Typically, there are 2 to 3 days of downtime following radiofrequency microneedling. Most patients initially experience moderate redness and sensitivity, which subsides within a few hours. Tiny microneedle puncture sites may be visible on the skin’s surface for a few days. In contrast, CO2 laser treatments often require more downtime, generally lasting between 5 and 10 days, depending on the intensity of the treatment and the skin’s healing capabilities. During this recovery period, the skin may become red and swollen, and it might develop scabs and peel, eventually revealing smoother, rejuvenated skin underneath. To support the healing process and protect the skin, patients are advised to limit sun exposure on the treated areas.
To achieve lasting effects, you will typically need 3 to 4 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Most patients notice improvements after the second treatment, but optimal results are usually observed 3 months after the final session.
