About the treatment
Silhouette Soft is a thread lift that redefines the facial outline without any incisions. FDA-approved and minimally invasive, Silhouette Soft is growing in popularity as an alternative to facelifts and has been successfully performed over 150,000 times worldwide.
The procedure provides a discreet approach to achieving a fresher, younger-looking appearance.
How does the treatment work?
Silhouette Soft achieves two effects:
1. it lifts the skin by repositioning the soft tissue of the face
2. it stimulates the regeneration of collagen for a long-lasting smoothing of the skin
Threads, called suspension sutures, made of resorbable and biocompatible components are implanted under the skin. These sutures, along with the doctor’s manual manipulation, instantly reshape the contours of the face. The small cones on the sutures provide further traction. The body’s natural reaction to a foreign body then takes over and produces a build-up of collagen. The sutures and the collagen reshape and smooth the face, making it tighter and younger-looking.
Dr Paul Kielty performs all our Silhouette Soft procedures.
Frequently Asked Questions
Silhouette Soft is a minimally invasive technique that lifts and tightens sagging skin primarily in the mid and lower face, jowls and neck.
Silhouette soft uses sutures made from Poly L-lactic acid (PLLA), a material that has been used for many years in different specialities of surgery and pharmaceutical applications. These sutures are places under the skin to lift and hold the contours of the face in place. The body then produces more collagen as a natural reaction to a foreign body being placed in it. The dual action of the sutures and the collagen reshape and smooth the face, making it tighter and younger-looking.
This treatment is performed under local anaesthesia so it is virtually painless.
Recovery is quick. The majority of patients experience only minimal bruising or slight swelling, which can last up to a week. Make up can be worn afterwards and patients can return to work the next day.
The treatment lasts on average 18 months to 2 years. It can be repeated after that time.
