What is a skin peel?
A skin peel is a resurfacing treatment designed to improve and enhance the skin. Also known as a face peel, a skin peel is a means of chemically exfoliating the skin by breaking down the intercellular glue that holds together dead skin cells, which causes cell turnover bringing new skin to the surface at a faster rate. SkinCeuticals Micro Peel is a superficial skin peel containing 20% or 30% Glycolic Acid depending on the peel type and on the client’s skin needs. Micro Peel effectively treats common skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, dry/dull skin, and superficial pigmentation.

How many treatments will I need?
A course of 4 SkinCeuticals Micro Skin Peel treatments are recommended at 2-4 week intervals for optimum results.
What preparation is required prior to treatment?
Active Skin Peels will require skin preparation before treatment to prepare your skin for your peel to achieve better penetration and to avoid any adverse reactions. We recommend preparing your skin for 2-4 weeks prior to superficial skin peels, but that may be longer when having deeper peels. It will also depend on the skin condition that is being treated. To prepare your skin, we recommend using a Glycolic or Salicylic cleanser once a day for 2-4 weeks before your first skin peel. You will also require a gentle cleanser, moisturiser and broad-spectrum sunscreen as part of your aftercare. Your pre and post-treatment program will be discussed in detail at your consultation.
How long is the recovery time?
This facial skin peel has minimal downtime with exfoliation (peeling of the skin) starting after 2-3 days and ending by approximately day 5.
Does the treatment hurt?
You may experience a warm/tingling sensation when the peel solution is initially applied, which will subside within a few minutes.

SkinCeuticals Pigment Balancing skin peel is a superficial facial peel that targets hyperpigmentation to dramatically lighten dark spots and improve the skin’s texture. The treatment combines high-performance brightening and anti-inflammatory agents with a peeling acid solution comprised of 40% Glycolic Acids, 27% L-ascorbic Acid (pure Vitamin C), 10% Citric Acid, and 4% Embliac pH 1.6 to accelerate cell renewal, improve skin tone and lighten pigmentation. Its high potency of Vitamin C and Embilac assist in lightening and suppressing excess pigment production.

About the treatment
SkinCeuticals Gel Peel contains 20% glycolic acid and 10% lactic acid. Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that deeply penetrates the skin while stimulating new collagen production.
